About this deal

Morvenn Vahl also has the honour of being a High Lord of Terra – a lofty status granted to her upon the personal recommendation of Roboute Guilliman himself. As if that wasn’t enough of a ringing endorsement, Vahl is held in such high esteem by the Adeptus Custodes that they granted her stewardship of the fabled Lance of Illumination – a legendary blade with which she can sweep aside the unclean or pierce even the foulest hide with ease. Ever a warrior first and administrator second, Vahl strides the battlefields of the 41st Millennium clad in Purgator Mirabilis, the finest warsuit of its kind and an ancient relic restored to glory by the Fabricator General of Mars himself. And then we have the highly versatile Battle Sisters Squad. You have a lot of weapon options, but read your datasheet carefully – there are caveats to having multi-meltas or heavy bolters, as you can only have 1 special or heavy weapon per 10 models in a unit. However, it is worth customising your squad to maximise their damage output – both far and close ranged. The Incensor cherub gains you a miracle dice – which gives the ability to perform one Act of Faith, which again is worth a read as their rules and abilities are legion. Sisters had one of the best Stratagem sections in 8th edition, with a great mix of possibilities which enhanced units across the army. Naturally this couldn’t be allowed to stand unchallenged, and there have been a surprising number of changes made.

Again, she has the option to mow down infantry or hit hard against the bigger stuff. This really gives her a ton of uses and lets her be taken in almost any army. Auras Seraphim get a very cool buff – their hand flamers are now Ministorum hand flamers, the same as regular ones but with S4 instead of S3. This is almost certainly a way to justify the 5pt cost per gun (see also artificer-crafted storm bolters elsewhere), but at least if GW are going to insist on a minimum 5pt cost for a weapon they’ve gone the right way about it by making the gun actually worth 5pts. It’s not all bad on the cost front, either, as the base Seraphim cost 14pts instead of 15 now, and get boosted to 2A and WS3+ base, giving them a little more of a chance at finishing something off in combat (and making the sergeant power sword more attractive) The benediction of the God-Emperor shines down upon those warriors that fight in His name. On the tabletop, His power is revealed in miraculous deeds of fortitude and divine strength, known as Acts of Faith . Each unit can perform one Act per phase – but first, your army will have to earn Miracle dice. On top of using the Hymns, she also has a great ability for ObSec. Meaning you can either count as double for objectives or give Objective Secured to units without the rule. This works great for all of the units in your army, from infantry to tanks – but just imagine how hard Saint Celestine will hit once a foolish enemy takes out her two Geminae Superia.** Unit Spotlight Note that Miracle dice can also be gained via other rules. No matter the source, you can only gain Miracle dice from such a rule if every unit from your army has the ADEPTA SORORITAS keyword (excluding models with the CULT IMPERIALIS, AGENT OF THE IMPERIUM or UNALIGNED keywords). Essentially, small units of these are still great line infantry, and there’s a real angle on going big in the new book. Good stuff. Elites For 1CP, you can ignore any or all negative hit modifiers in either the Shooting or Fight phases. Probably the most significant place this is going to come into effect now is for Retributors, which no longer ignore the move and shoot penalty with Heavy weapons naturally, but may also come into play for Repentia. In general this has been way less relevant in 9th, so it’s nice to see it given broader use cases. Warlord Trait – Impervious to Pain

Replaces a brazier of holy fire with a version which removes the “one use only” clause. Yawn. Minoris Convictions We will, however, reveal a few tidbits of new rules content to whet your appetite. First up, there are some more Armies of Renown to cater for the new arrivals to War Zone Charadon, including the Disciples of Be’lakor, which comprises both Daemons and mortals. If you love everything Chaos and want a legion led by a big, awesome Character, you might just have found your next army.Example 1: Instead of rolling one D6 to see what value is added to a unit’s Move characteristic when that unit Advances, you could use a dice from your Miracle dice pool. If the value of that dice was 5, you would add 5" to the Move characteristic of every model in that unit for that Movement phase. The contents of this box comes to a respectable 414 points, leaving you the option of either adding another cheap squad or unit to your boarding force to make the 500 point threshold or absolutely ramming what you’ve got with wargear upgrades. Both options are very viable and will leave you with a strong list to take to the battlefield. Outside of the Named datasheets, you’ve got your three generic HQ choices, the Canoness, Palatine and Missionary. As the rank and file of the Adepta Sororitas, it falls to Battle Sister squads to hold the battlefield’s vital points in the face of whatever the enemy might throw at them. Defenders of the Faith makes them incredibly tenacious when guarding an objective, with foes needing to press through a storm of boltgun fire only to find the Battle Sisters shrugging off wounds that would lay any normal human low.

Doubling the model count can really make it hard for the enemy to actually take any objectives from you! The big test for the list would likely be whether the warsuits held up, but fully supported as they are here I’m definitely interested in giving them a go! Wrap UpThat leaves 90pts for a unit with two hand flamer models as your probable loadout for these, and especially at S4 (or in Ebon Chalice where you can proc mortals) there are homes for that. Zephyrim Sacred Grounds – Shadow Operations: One ADEPTA SORORITAS INFANTRY or CULT IMPERIALIS PRIEST unit can perform the Sacred Grounds action each turn, starting at the end of your Movement phase and finishing at the end of your next Command phase (or the end of the battle), assuming they’re in range of an objective marker you haven’t already consecrated, and there are no enemy units in range. If completed, you score 1pt at the end of the game for an objective wholly within your deployment zone, or 4pts for one outside of your deployment zone. The marker also gains the Inspiring (ADEPTUS MINISTORUM) terrain trait.

Warhammer Community: Sisters of Battle: Beyond the Box (Posted November 13th 2019) (Last accessed 11/14/2019) The Enhancements for Sisters are interesting. Saintly Example is the weakest; it makes it so when the bearer dies, they generate D3 Miracle dice instead of just 1. If you really want Miracle Dice in your life then it’s an option, but it relies on your character dying and it’s still only d3. What if your opponent is going to punch out your melee unit before they get to swing? For 2CP using Spirit of the Matryr you can make any Adepta Sororitas unit fight on death if it has not fought yet this phase. Any fight on death mechanics are always very strong, but in Sisters it’s particularly good with the potential boosts you have for units below Starting Strength and the possibility of pulling off the fight on death & Divine Intervention combo. This army is designed to play the gameplan outlined in the “how they’ll play” section, with an extremely solid core designed to roll forward and overwhelm the enemy, with the threat of a reserved Repentia unit hanging over the heads of anyone who wants to try getting clever. You start the big Sacresant unit in one Rhino and one each of the smaller units and Dominions in the other two, letting you push the Rhinos up a little out the gate and threaten a counter-charge into any enemy that tries to claim the mid-board right away.
